Empuriabrava and surroundings
EMPURIABRAVA , the largest and most modern Marina in the Mediterranean, is placed 34km from the border between France and Spain. There, in the Bay of Roses, with an impressive background of the Pyrenees, lies a Paradise for water sport and boating enthusiast. The 2 kms beach is of fine sand 30kms of navigable canals lead inland from the Sea.
The canals are lines with villas, with well cared gardens and private boat moorings. So it is understandable that EMPURIABRAVA is often referred as "Little Venice".
The main shopping street is centrally located, featuring Supermarkets, Souvenir shops, restaurant with Spanish and International cuisine and Bars and Cafes. Also hairdressers and a Chemist. A covered way provides protection from the sun for shoppers and sightseers.
EMPURIABRAVA offers very large selection of water Sports; Surfing, Water-ski, Sailing, power-boating, deep-sea diving and fishing. If all this is not enough. Riding, Squash and Tennis., Go-karts, Minigolf are also available. The fitness Club, with Swimming Pool (heated and covered in winter) offers also Sauna, Jacuzzi and Solarium.
On the outskirts of EMPURIABRAVA lies a small airport that is an internationally known centre for parachute jumping and Sky-diving. There is also a school for Flight and Micro-Light training.
Winter Sport are also catered for approx. 80km away in the magnificent Pyrenees .
